I’m a soccer coach wife of 7 years, with two beautiful little girls. We currently live in North Carolina where my husband is the head men’s soccer coach at a D3 University, and our team is unique in that it’s made up of mostly international players. We’re going into season 3 with this team (2nd of being head coach) which is the longest we’ve been in one place… ever. We’re on home #7 and Team #7 (including one team where he worked 2 different stints), so it’s nice to be semi-settled - as much as you can be in this industry! I love this life, even though it can be super hard.
What is your favorite part of this lifestyle?

Post-game hugs for me and then watching him help our daughter shoot a goal after the game is over and hosting team meals with our players at our home.
What is your LEAST favorite part of this lifestyle?
- The uncertainty of job security and bleacher coaches! Also that most people I know don’t understand this life at all.
What is one item you can't live without that makes this life easier?
- As a mom of littles, my insulated diaper bag where I can store snacks and drinks for games, and our portable fan for the hotter half of the season.
What is your go to concession stand order or must have snack?
- I personally enjoy packing veggies and hummus for my snack, but when I want to indulge I order popcorn or bring along cookies.
What is the craziest thing you have survived due to this lifestyle?
- 3 moves within 6 months with a 1-year-old when my husband got fired abruptly - all of which crossed state lines.
What is one thing you would go back and tell your younger self?
- It’ll be hard, but it’s so worth it - be intentional with your time as a family, even if it’s not “traditional” (example: family breakfasts instead of family dinners)
