I am the daughter of a coach and coaches wife and now am married to a coach myself. We have been married for four years and have been in the head coaching position for three years. As much as I believe my mother taught me to be a great coach's wife, it doesn’t make the role any less difficult, especially doing things during the season on your own. Luckily, my coach is very family oriented and takes great care of family time when we have time with one another. Every year, no matter how tough the last one was, we look forward to a new group of kids to cheer for and love on like our own.
What is your favorite part of this lifestyle?
-
My favorite part of this lifestyle is the pride that I find in cheering on my coach. I attend almost every game and follow along with all the things that go along with having a team and the title of “head coach's wife.”
What is your LEAST favorite part of this lifestyle?
- Time away and keeping up with all the things. Basketball season can seem long at times so staying positive and being patient with things that may not get done in a timely manner is sometimes difficult for me to remember to do. Grace is key.
What is one item you can't live without that makes this life easier?
- Coffee
What is your go to concession stand order or must have snack?
- Hot Cheetos
What is the craziest thing you have survived due to this lifestyle?
- COVID-19. Watching game streams from the couch instead of being there to cheer my coach and his team on.
What is one thing you would go back and tell your younger self?
-
RELAX! Things will get done, and if not, it’s not the end of the world. We will be fed, we will wash clothes. It will all get done
