We are high school sweethearts, and both graduated from Texas Tech. This is year 10 for us. We started at Coahoma (4 years), Idalou (4 years), and Abernathy (2 years). We have two children: Nolan (8), Annie (4). Ryan accepted an AD position last year, but ultimately withdrew after a couple of weeks because we didn’t have the best feeling about it. We ended up right where we needed to be but he is having to start over it feels like. We have seen the good, bad, and ugly of this lifestyle, but I can’t see us doing anything else.
What is your favorite part of this lifestyle?
- Meeting other coach’s wives, the adventurers, Friday nights.
- That our fate is in the hands of teenagers and their parents.
What is one item you can't live without that makes this life easier?
- A group of friends that know the struggle. And a good stadium seat!
What is your go to concession stand order or must have snack?
- Cheese nachos or hot Cheetos with cheese.
- Having to deal with the loss of a parent and turn around and be ready.
What is one thing you would go back and tell your younger self?
