Friday Feature: Tasha Rowell

I’ve been with my coach since the beginning, 21 years ago. He is a Head Football Coach/AD at his Alma Mater. We have been married 16 years and have 3 girls, Anleigh Jase-13, Carsen-12, and Elle-9.5. I am a pediatric speech language pathologist and own my own clinic. Our girls are super active, so I don’t have much time to do anything outside of football and their activities. But I wouldn’t change a thing!

What is your favorite part of this lifestyle?

  • The ministry. Watching boys grow into young men on and off the field. Seeing them find a love of football, but also a love of Jesus!
What is your LEAST favorite part of this lifestyle?
    • Moving. We have only moved 4 times with only one move that was over 2.5 hours. You grieve each move because friendships become long distance and harder to keep; but we try to be intentional and make ways to see old coaching friends!
What is one item you can't live without that makes this life easier?
    • My Bible
What is your go to concession stand order or must have snack?
    • Cheese fries and boiled peanuts.
What is the craziest thing you have survived due to this lifestyle?
    • It may sound silly, but leaving the emergency contact empty on your kids’ school intake papers because your family is 2.5 hours away and you are new to town and know no one that close; yet! The next year, I was able to add dear friends as their emergency contacts!
What is one thing you would go back and tell your younger self?
    • Buckle up! No, really, I would tell myself to give grace. Grace for myself, for my coach, for my kids!
