Can you believe it? Summer has gone so quickly.
Here soon, I will be planning team dinners, washing game-day laundry, and packing goodie bags for coaches and players.
We will be surrounded by the loudest fans and the brightest lights.
When we hear the train horn go off, that is "our normal." I will be catching up on all the household laundry, all while cleaning out my coach's car to wash all the things he's left in the office. He has been better about bringing them home sooner than a Thursday evening.
There's a 3-hour break after school that I get to myself. This allows me to create a routine that works best for my household. This routine consists of cooking dinner, loading the dishwasher, and getting ready to serve a meal.
I enjoy doing this. I know he appreciates it.
Coach comes home around 6:30/7, and we get to share a meal together. I look forward to these evenings, even if it's only 3-4 times a week. He and I sit at the dinner table and speak about our days.
The days seem long, but seeing the success of a program that your coach puts his whole heart into makes all the long days and nights worth it. I love watching him do what he loves to do, even if some days I miss him a little extra.
There is nothing that beats family and Friday night lights. I am so thankful for all the support in this Friday Night Wives community and for the people who understand this is "our normal"!
